Jayson “eagle eye” shaw
Jayson Shaw, is a professional pool player and JFlowers ambassador from Glasgow, Scotland but is now based in Connecticut, United States.
Shaw picked up a cue for the first time at the age of 4. He began his career with English 8-ball, competing in the junior division for Scotland. In 2006, he started his professional career at the age of 16. In 2010, Shaw became the WPA World Blackball Champion.
Shaw then crossed over to American pool and immediately established himself as one of the top pool players in the world. He became known in the sport as “Eagle Eye” for his out-of-this-world shotmaking ability.
Shaw has achieved multiple titles throughout his pool career. In 2017, he became the U.S. Open Pool champion, dominantly defeating his opponent 13-4 in the final. Shaw is also a 6-time Mosconi Cup winner (2016, 2017, 2020-2023), and won the MVP two consecutive times in 2020 and 2021. Shaw also won the inaugural edition of the Hanoi Open Pool Championship in 2023, defeating World Champion Albin Ouschan in a hill-hill final.
On January 2022, Shaw set the world record for most consecutive runs in straight-pool with a score of 714.
Shaw and his wife currently own a pool hall in West Haven, Connecticut called U.S. 1 Billiards. Their pool hall was used as the venue for the 2024 Premier League Pool.
