Troy “THE SNIPER” Garten

Troy “The Sniper” Garten is a professional artistic pool player and JFlowers Ambassador from Great Falls Montana.

At 15 years of age, Garten started playing pool at a small bar in the small town he lived in. He fell in love with the game since then, playing in tournaments and competing in leagues like the APA.

Garten was always interested in trickshots since he was a kid, but it wasn’t until around 2018 that he took it seriously. Garten said that his biggest influence was Tom Rossman, A.K.A. Dr. Cue, inspiring him to become an artistic pool player. Garten started to post content on social media, showing off his tricks with his “Weekly Shot” segment. Since its first edition in 2018, Garten has never missed a weekly video. His trick shots were even featured in ‘People Are Awesome’. Garten currently has 47,000 followers on Facebook, over 100,000 followers on Instagram, and over 21,000 followers on TikTok.

Garten also competes professionally as an artistic pool player. He put up a great showing in his debut at the 2018 WPA World Artistic Championships where he was given the Rising Star award. Throughout his professional career, he was 14th in the world in the WPA-APD rankings.

Garten got “The Sniper” nickname when he was competing in the APA City Cup, where he made a 3-in-1 trickshot. One spectator saw that shot and said, “Great shot, sniper!”

Aside from artistic pool, Garten is still an avid league player and and as a fun fact, he has also served as one of the referees for the APA World Championships in Las Vegas.
