This quickly became my prefered playing cue. I love the balance it has combined with the excellent SMO shaft.
It’s hard to review a cue with a few sentenses, as it consists of the butt piece, which is part of the total balance. I really like the discreet but sophisticated look of the cue butt. It’s easy to adjust the weight with a 1/4 hex tool.
The SMO cue shaft simply feels excellent. I really like the pro taper and the classy but discreet ring work. It does behave a bit different, read better, when it comes to deflection. This is mostly about personal preferences, but I have found it very easy to adjust to the way the SMO plays when applying English.
Up until getting this cue, I used soft tips, and the SMO comes standard with a Taom Fusion Medium/hard tip. The different hardness was totally transparent to me, and I really like the way this tip plays.
In all, this combination of cue parts, makes for a very nice and playable pool cue. When playing I never think about how this cue will perform. It is all about what I do with the shot, which for me is what’s important.
