No, the JFlowers quick-release (QR) joint is not a true Viking Quick Release fit. While both joints share a base 5/16x18 thread configuration, a standard JFlowers 5/16x18 shaft or QR pin will not cleanly mate with a Viking QR setup without physical modification.The Structural DifferenceThe proprietary Viking Quick Release pin utilizes an unthreaded "blank" pilot portion near the base or tip of the pin to facilitate swift alignment and stability. Mechanically, this unthreaded section has a outer diameter that is slightly larger than the minor diameter of a standard 5/16x18 threaded female insert.Because a standard JFlowers 5/16x18 shaft insert is fully threaded to standard tolerances, the blank, unthreaded portion of a Viking pin will physically bind or get stuck. It will not allow you to screw the cue together.
